Benefits of Assorted Terrarium Workshops / Classes

Team Building
Terrarium making can help to improve teamwork. Participants can come together to create a terrarium of their liking, or each member can make their own terrarium and create a story that explains their designs. As this is a team effort, each member wil be given a responsibility to take charge of the plant by watering and nurturing it. The finished product can then be placed in a common area where it can act as a reminder of their combined team effort.
Knowledge
We hope to get more people to understand the importance of the surrounding greenery. At the same time, we wish to inspire more people to get their green fingers moving and make our world a greener place to live in.
Stress Reliefs
Terrarium making is therapeutic and it teaches one to be patient. Participants will be taught how to maintain and care for their terrariums. Participants will also understand the importance to be responsible in order to keep the terrarium healthy!

Terrarium is miniature worlds to grow plant ecosystems. They are usually grown in transparent containers such as glass jars or containers and one key feature of terrariums is that they require lower maintenance than your regular potted plant.
Slow-growing plants are recommended for terrariums. For our workshops, we provide you with Fittonia plants, also known as nerve plants due to the beautiful pink or white vein patterns on their leaves.
Enclosed terrariums require water every month; 8 full sprays / 5-6 tablespoons per watering. Semi-enclosed terrariums such as the Egg terrarium can be watered every 2 weeks. Ensure that the terrarium is aired for 3 days before each watering session in order to allow the stale water within the terrarium to evaporate. This helps to prevent the growth of mould.
Yes! You will be able to bring back the terrarium that you built with your own two hands straight after the workshop. Remember to water it!
Our facilitators would start by explaining the basic concepts regarding terrariums, before moving onto the hands-on terrarium-building activity. The session would conclude with our facilitators sharing some maintenance tips, and a photo-taking session with everyone holding their completed terrariums.
There are generally two types of terrariums – enclosed and open terrariums. At EPIC Workshops, we offer a variety of glass containers to choose from, including our popular Classic closed terrariums and our Angled open terarriums.
We provide coloured sand, a variety of stones, as well as figurines for $1 and up. Otherwise, you can choose to add your own decorations and figurines into your terrarium as well.
Open terrariums require water every 2 days; 5 full sprays / 2-3 tablespoons per watering.
Keep your terrarium away from heat sources, such as beside an oven or computer. Indirect sunlight or indoor lighting is recommended for your terrarium. Do not place your terrarium in direct sunlight as your terrarium functions like a greenhouse – heat is easily trapped within the glass container, which may cook your plants.
The required materials include a glass jar or container, gravel, dried moss, soil, and most importantly a suitable plant! You would also need some tools to help you with the planting. All these materials are provided for you at our terrarium workshops, along with coloured sand, stones and figurines for decoration.

Assorted Terrarium Workshops / Classes FAQ

8 easy ways to style your apartment with assorted terrarium

Do you need a creative way to spruce up your space? We’ll take care of that! Join us for an Assorted Terrarium workshop, where you will learn how to pot, style, and care for your own terrarium. You can choose one succulent or combine different plants together in any design you want. This is the perfect project for beginners or those who are looking to try something new. Bring your creativity with you and leave with a beautiful creation.

Terrariums are an easy way to create a living arrangement, and this workshop is the perfect place to start. Succulents have become increasingly popular in recent years as they have a low-maintenance design that doesn’t need much water or sunlight. During the workshop, you will be able to choose your favorite succulent, learn about its needs and pick your favorite container. We’ll teach you how to place the plants in an aesthetic way that is sure to impress all of your guests.

You will be able to take home your beautiful terrarium with you after the workshop. Succulents are perfect for beginners because they can grow anywhere, even in low sunlight. The workshop is great for those looking to learn more about design, pottery, and plant care. No matter your skill level, you can leave with a unique creation to show off around the house.

Here are 8 easy ways to style your apartment:

1) Free-standing terrariums

These are great for people who want to be able to rotate the plants in the terrarium every now and then. Plus they make it really simple when you want to detach your plants from the rest of the pot for repotting or when you want to clean the inside.

2) Wall mounted terrariums

These are perfect for people who don’t have tables or surfaces where they can place their terrariums. Simply mount them on any wall in your house and enjoy an attractive living centerpiece that won’t take up any space on your furniture.

3) Hanging pendant terrariums

Terrariums that hang from anything you can rig them onto whether it’s a small tree in your backyard or a hook in your living room. These are really fun to make as well as display, simply fill a glass vase with dirt and sand or rocks then place your plant inside.

4) Glass lid terrariums

If you prefer an open-top terrarium this is the perfect choice for you. They’re beautiful and attractive! The only thing you’ll have to worry about is making sure that the plants inside don’t overgrow and start going into your terrarium.

5) Self-watering terrariums

These are great because they only need a few minutes every day of regular maintenance. Simply fill the bottom with water and it will be absorbed by a hidden wick, keeping your plant alive and healthy.

6) Wooden terrariums

These are great choices for people who want to go beyond just making a regular terrarium or if they’re interested in woodworking since it takes some skill to do. Remember that the glass is only there as a protective cover so you don’t have to worry about water damage on your furniture.

7) Faux-terrariums

These are great for people who live in places with dry climates and don’t want to deal with watering their plants all the time. If you’re looking to add some pizazz to your interior design these little faux-terrariums will definitely do it

8) Concrete terrariums

These are great for people who like the earthy look and feel that’s associated with concrete. Also, many of these types of terrariums come with lights inside them which you can turn on whenever you like to add some interesting effects to your home.

How to care for your terrarium (including light requirements)

Most succulents are sun-lovers, but there are some that are sun-tolerant. These can take more light, yet they will still require careful attention. It is best to avoid direct sunlight on your terrarium as it could overheat the soil and kill your succulents.

Most succulents require only moderate watering and an annual fertilizer every three months. The type of potting soil you use will also determine how much water and fertilizer your succulent needs to thrive. Arid terrariums will benefit from nutrient-free soil.

Succulents are desert plants that store water in their bulbous leaves or stems, which also give them their unique aesthetic appearance. Because of this, most succulents require little care to survive and thrive in your home. A terrarium with succulents does not need to be watered as often as other plants.

In conclusion, If you’re looking for a stylish and low-maintenance way to add some life to your home, then terrariums are perfect. They look great in any room of the house, they require minimal upkeep (making them an ideal solution for those who might not have much time), and there’s something about their simple charm that just makes us happy.
